Robotics Development and Support Services for Redlands

At COLETEK Robotics Development and Support Services for Redlands, we bring deep, long-standing experience in robotics engineering, autonomous systems development, and artificial intelligence. Our CTO, Luke Cole, began working in robotics as a teenager in 1998 and went on to serve as a Robotics Engineer at Hemisphere GPS (formerly BEELINE, now part of AgJunction). During his time there, he developed and deployed auto-guidance systems used in hundreds of agricultural vehicles—including tractors and quadbikes—across the globe.

Luke’s career has spanned work with some of Australia's top research institutions and high-tech companies. These include NICTA (now CSIRO Data61), CSIRO, Seeing Machines, and the ANU Robotics Systems Lab under the direction of Professor Alex Zelinsky—former Chief Defence Scientist of Australia. His contributions included pioneering work on autonomous mobile robots, early self-driving vehicle systems, and computer vision algorithms—before tools like ROS and OpenCV even existed.

Back in the early 2000s, our team developed custom robotics frameworks called VisLib and DROS, which collectively totaled over 360,000 lines of code—an early effort in DIY robotics middleware, laying the groundwork for modern AI-integrated robotics systems.

Lance Cole also brings significant robotics hardware expertise, with experience at NICTA and contributions to EOS, a defense contractor building the Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS) for the US military—a sophisticated integration of sensors, motors, and control systems.

Today, our engineers and developers provide cutting-edge robotics and AI consulting services across Australia and globally. We support a variety of clients in commercial, educational, research, and defense sectors. Our offerings include:

• Custom robotic solutions for homes, businesses, and education.
• Prototyping and product development for robotic inventions and proof-of-concepts.
• Automation consulting to streamline industrial or logistics workflows.
• Repair and optimization of existing robotic systems and automation platforms.
• Robotics R&D platforms for universities, innovation labs, and advanced research centres.

The COLETEK Robotics Development and Support Services for Redlands team brings over 50 years of combined experience in robotics development, including indoor and outdoor autonomous navigation, SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping), sensor fusion, computer vision, motor control, and control theory. We are experts in integrating mechanical, electronic, and software systems to create robust and intelligent robotics platforms.

Our service area originated in New South Wales (NSW) and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), but now primarily supports clients throughout East Coast Queensland, including Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, and the Gold Coast.
