Our CTO (Luke Cole) previously worked for Hemisphere GPS (orginally called BEELINE, and now bought out by AgJunction) as a "Robotics Engineer" implementing auto-guidance solutions for various quadbikes and agriculture tractors that was used by 100's of vehicles around the world.
For 10 years, starting as a teenager in 1998 - Luke Cole has also worked for leading research institutes and companies such as NICTA (now called CSIRO Data61), CSIRO, Seeing Machines and ANU Robotics System Lab (lead by Alex Zelinsky, who received a rare prestigious AO award in 2017 and was Defence Scientist of Australia from 2012 for 6 years). Luke's work included various autonomous mobile robot projects, involving computer vision, and even a self-driving car early 2000's. Back then OpenCV and ROS didn't exist, so we did a "roll-your-own" called VisLib and DROS comprised of 364,578 lines of code.
Lance Cole has also worked at NICTA and has a background of various hardware development, such as working for a contract company to the US millary (EOS), building the Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS).
We have a combined 50 years of extensive experience with Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV's). Including cars, tractors, quadbikes and other custom ground-based vehicles.
COLETEK's team all has a background in vehicle automation, which have built a wide range of skills and technologies such as:

Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney faces unique logistical challenges with patient transportation, supply delivery, and environmental sanitation. COLETEK's Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) Solutions offer a comprehensive approach to optimize these processes, boosting efficiency and safety. Our team works collaboratively with you to understand your specific needs and design a custom AGV system tailored to your hospital's unique layout and workflows.
Through discovery workshops and detailed requirements capture, we identify opportunities for automation and streamline workflows. Our engineers then develop detailed trade-offs, considering factors such as infrastructure compatibility, payload capacity, and navigation algorithms. This iterative process ensures seamless integration of the AGV system into your existing infrastructure.
We understand the importance of remote collaboration and periodic design reviews for projects of this scale. Our team is geographically dispersed across Australia, enabling us to provide ongoing support and guidance throughout the entire process. From prototyping and iteration to production-readiness planning and handover, we are committed to delivering a seamless and successful implementation of your AGV solution.
COLETEK has a proven track record of delivering innovative automation solutions across industries. Our expertise in robotics, electronics, embedded systems, AI, and product development enables us to tackle complex challenges and deliver practical, real-world solutions. We are confident that our AGVs can significantly enhance the efficiency and safety of patient transportation, supply management, and sanitation at Royal North Shore Hospital.

Intuitive, innovative & efficient are three words that would appropriately describe the COLETEK service. Luke and the team at COLETEK have taken our concepts to the next level.
COLETEK have provided one to one communication throughout the development process and gone above and beyond in bringing our ideas closer to becoming a reality! Luke's expertise and knowledge with computer software and electronics is Jedi like, but what I liked most about working with him was his willingness and ability to think outside of the box.
