Our CTO (Luke Cole) previously worked for Hemisphere GPS (orginally called BEELINE, and now bought out by AgJunction) as a "Robotics Engineer" implementing auto-guidance solutions for various quadbikes and agriculture tractors that was used by 100's of vehicles around the world.
For 10 years, starting as a teenager in 1998 - Luke Cole has also worked for leading research institutes and companies such as NICTA (now called CSIRO Data61), CSIRO, Seeing Machines and ANU Robotics System Lab (lead by Alex Zelinsky, who received a rare prestigious AO award in 2017 and was Defence Scientist of Australia from 2012 for 6 years). Luke's work included various autonomous mobile robot projects, involving computer vision, and even a self-driving car early 2000's. Back then OpenCV and ROS didn't exist, so we did a "roll-your-own" called VisLib and DROS comprised of 364,578 lines of code.
Lance Cole has also worked at NICTA and has a background of various hardware development, such as working for a contract company to the US millary (EOS), building the Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS).
We have a combined 50 years of extensive experience with Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV's). Including cars, tractors, quadbikes and other custom ground-based vehicles.
COLETEK's team all has a background in vehicle automation, which have built a wide range of skills and technologies such as:
These technologies can be used for various applications such as:
Nerriga businesses can streamline their operations and maximize efficiency with COLETEK's innovative Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) Solutions. Our expertise in robotics, electronics, and automation empowers us to deliver tailored solutions that optimize material handling, production processes, and warehouse logistics across diverse industries.
Our comprehensive approach begins with thorough requirements capture and analysis. We collaborate with clients to understand their unique operational challenges and environments, considering factors such as deployment feasibility, remote versus on-site review, and logistics across regional or metropolitan areas. This collaborative process ensures the design of an AGV system that seamlessly integrates into your existing workflows.
From proof-of-concept work and prototype refinement to design reviews and technical feasibility assessments, COLETEK guides clients through each stage of the process. We prioritize iterative testing and refinement, ensuring the optimal performance of your AGV system before production readiness. Our in-house prototyping lab facilitates rapid hardware and software development, testing, and refinement.
We understand the importance of seamless integration into your existing infrastructure. Our experienced team will manage the entire process, from requirements capture through installation and handover. We also offer ongoing support and periodic design reviews to ensure the continued effectiveness and efficiency of your AGV system over time.

COLETEK have provided one to one communication throughout the development process and gone above and beyond in bringing our ideas closer to becoming a reality! Luke's expertise and knowledge with computer software and electronics is Jedi like, but what I liked most about working with him was his willingness and ability to think outside of the box.
Intuitive, innovative & efficient are three words that would appropriately describe the COLETEK service. Luke and the team at COLETEK have taken our concepts to the next level.
